Training

All Mumbys carers are trained in-house to both our own exacting standards and those expected by our clients. Training is carried out in our own facility in Oxfordshire and followed up with 3 monthly supervisions.

Each applicant is interviewed so that we can assess not only if they have the necessary personal and communication skills but if we feel they are the right person for the job they will be asked to do. They are also Criminal Records Bureau checked for the safety of our clients and the confidence of the client families.

Following a successful application, our new recruits are given a full 12 week induction but during their career with us they will also be expected to attend regular additional and top-up training.

Our training is specially designed to give candidates the necessary skills and confidence in all the areas of caring they are likely to encounter. These include:

• Manual handling
• Medication
• Safeguarding Vunerable Adults
• Emergency First Aid
• Food Hygiene
• Health & Saferty
• Fire Safety
• Death, Dying & Berevement
• Stress Management

Additional training:

• 6 weeek dementia coaching sessions
• Challenging behaviour
• Mental & physical wellbeing
• Epilepsy
• Stroke management

Our carers are also trained to cope with dozens of medical issues. A list of these can be found under Conditions We Cover. In addition, all our carers also have access to specific on-line training.
