Basildon Park

The elegant Palladian façade of Basildon Park sits in 400 acres of historic parkland and gardens. The 18th-century house has a fascinating history, beautiful fine furnishings and Old Masters to admire. The lovely tea room tops this off as a great place to enjoy a day out.

This National Trust property has disabled parking, a visitor buggy and an adapted toilet so is a great choice for the less abled visitor.

The Vyne

The Vyne is another National Trust property and dates back to Tudor times. There are many interesting features within the house as well as woodlands gardens and wetlands to explore.

The property has parking for blue badge holders, a hearing loop in visitor reception, manual wheelchairs to borrow and accessible toilets. The ground floor of the house is wheelchair accessible. The paths in the grounds are relatively flat and suitable for wheelchairs except after heavy rain when they can become muddy.

The Screen Cinema

The Screen Cinema is a wonderful venue inside an old fire station. The cinema shows a good range of films, both old and new and you can take a drink from the bar into the theatre with you. The venue has old fashioned charm along with state of the art digital screen quality and surround sound, so you get the best of both worlds.

Berkshire has plenty of great places to shop. Whether you are looking for independent stores in pretty towns or shopping centres with easy access to everything under one roof.

The Lexicon
