Live-in Care in Berkshire

At Mumby’s, we believe that live-in care provides the best way for your loved one to continue to live the life they choose in security and comfort.

Live-in care is a viable alternative to going into a nursing home for most people. When you choose live-in care, a carer comes into your home to provide round the clock support. Your carer will ensure that your loved one’s physical and emotional needs are taken care of to keep them in the best of health. A live-in carer can be cheaper than a care home and offers more tailored support and flexibility.

Live-in care allows your loved one to remain in the comfort of their own home. Surrounded by their own things and in the community and place they love.  A live-in carer can also ensure your loved one continues to enjoy the activities they love, such as social engagements, activities and days out.

Why choose Mumby’s live-in care in Berkshire?

At Mumby’s, we choose local people with local knowledge. This means our carers know the area and where to find all the facilities your loved one needs. From the location of the doctor’s surgery to where to park for the local hospital, our carers have the knowledge required.

In addition, our carers have plenty of information about activities and places to visit to help your loved one make the most of life.

Whether your loved one lives in Bracknell Forest, Reading, Slough, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead or Wokingham, we can provide a live-in carer to help them make the most of their life.

Here are just some of the wonderful places your loved one can visit with their live-in carer in Berkshire.

Windsor Great Park

A day out in the fresh air always does us the power of good, whether it is a hot sunny day or a crisp winter one. Being in nature and getting plenty of daylight are proven to lift our mood. So what better way to boost your spirits than a day out at Windsor Great Park. Here you can enjoy gentle walks in woodlands or beside the lake. You can then meander around the seasonal gardens before enjoying some refreshment in one of the cafes.

Basildon Park

The elegant Palladian façade of Basildon Park sits in 400 acres of historic parkland and gardens. The 18th-century house has a fascinating history, beautiful fine furnishings and Old Masters to admire. The lovely tea room tops this off as a great place to enjoy a day out.

This National Trust property has disabled parking, a visitor buggy and an adapted toilet so is a great choice for the less abled visitor.

The Vyne

The Vyne is another National Trust property and dates back to Tudor times. There are many interesting features within the house as well as woodlands gardens and wetlands to explore.

The property has parking for blue badge holders, a hearing loop in visitor reception, manual wheelchairs to borrow and accessible toilets. The ground floor of the house is wheelchair accessible. The paths in the grounds are relatively flat and suitable for wheelchairs except after heavy rain when they can become muddy.

The Screen Cinema

The Screen Cinema is a wonderful venue inside an old fire station. The cinema shows a good range of films, both old and new and you can take a drink from the bar into the theatre with you. The venue has old fashioned charm along with state of the art digital screen quality and surround sound, so you get the best of both worlds.

Berkshire has plenty of great places to shop. Whether you are looking for independent stores in pretty towns or shopping centres with easy access to everything under one roof.

The Lexicon

The Lexicon Bracknell has a full range of stores, restaurants and a cinema. It also has an onsite Shopmobility service, easy access ramps and pathways, and parking for Blue Badge permit holders, The accessible toilets are spacious and spotless, too.

These are just some of the local places your live-in carer can visit with you. Your carer will have plenty more ideas for activities suited to each individual and location.
