Every second week Mumby’s Live-in Care run a comprehensive 5-day induction training. This is carried out at our head office in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. We have a fully set up training facility away from the busy office. All equipment is real equipment used in peoples homes so it is a real hands on training experience.
Our Induction Training Aims
Our training is aimed at bringing onboard new recruits to the Mumby’s team. We are always recruiting experienced and competent staff with a good level of English. We also use the training to update the skills of our existing care team.
The training is carried out by exceptional trainers, from Nursing and teaching backgrounds. This means it’s a really informative week with plenty of interaction and engagement. We cover the 15 care certificate standards as mandatory. We also go further into early intervention programmes for fall, urine infections and pressure areas.
Our Dementia Session is carried out by Trevor Mumby M.Sc. B.A.S.W
We are extremely lucky to have our Director Trevor Mumby take a session on Dementia for us. He has now written 3 books on how to cope with dementia in the family and how to react with dementia from a carers point of view. Feedback from these session has been unanimously positive, often with requests for follow up. We even host training parties from other care companies.
We are actively recruiting for our live-in care jobs and keen to hear from people interested in joining our care team
Mumby’s will provide accommodation for all those coming from far away. We have a carers house in Abingdon Oxfordshire. We also have great relationships with local Oxfordshire B&B’s. During the week Mumby’s will provide breakfast and lunch every day. Evening meals must be catered for by attendees.
If you would like to attend or know someone who may be interested, please email recruitment@mumby.com.
We are always looking for staff to join our friendly team and help those we care for remain independent in their own homes.
